C2 Tasers
The Physiology Of The C2 Tasers - How Do They Work?
Tasers have been around since about 1974 and are ironically named after a book called “Thomas a Swift and His Electric Rifle”.
They are highly effective in taking down an assailant and more importantly they are non-lethal. The Taser C2 is an electronic projectile device that has a more sleek design compared to its predecessors and is just as powerful.
It still comes with 50,000 volts of sheer electric power and it has a 100% effectiveness rating. Having a small and easy design to adapt to, it is easy to carry and to work. It also comes in four different colors including pink.
So, how do these bad boys work? You have probably seen many videos on MySpace or YouTube that accurately show what would happen if anyone was stunned with this device.
Well they don’t lie. Being an electronic controlled device the C2 Taser have a ballistic chamber filled with a nitrogen based propelled replaceable cartridge that when punctured it lets out the nitrogen to eject the 2 prongs toward whatever it is pointed at. These prongs go at about 180 ft/second and up to about 15 ft away. Once hit they go through up to 2 inches of clothing.
The prongs at the ends of the wires are at about an inch and a half. Once they purge through the clothing they deliver the 50,000 volts of take-down power for about 30 seconds.
When someone is shocked they are sent to the ground franticly shaking and maybe even losing control of their bodily fluids. The body is just responding to something it can’t control, primarily the surge in electricity going through it. The Taser C2 has about 2 milliamps of juice to put out at 50,000 volts. The voltage is the force that drives the amperage and the amperage is the legitimate source of power. When the amperage is driven into the skin it causes neuromuscular incapacitation.
In other words, that neuromuscular system is overwhelmed with input and you start to lose balance and muscle control. Not to mention confusion and disorientation. Generally, people recover within 20 minutes or so.
When looking at any form of non-lethal weapons these are the most effective next to a lethal weapon of any kind. There are many studies that have been made that have proven that Tasers have the lowest injury rate for both the attacker and the operator. They are made to fight and flight. The Taser C2 is also made to track a user. Once released the cartridge spits out about 20-30 pieces of confetti with an Anti-Felon Identification (AFID) serial number on it that allow police to track an individual that purchased a taser, whether it is for self defense or unlawful means.
| If you have to run away and are not able to obtain your taser, you can send a copy of the police report to SafetyTackle documenting the incident and we will replace your unit free of charge. Please keep in mind that like the C2 all Tasers are not toys.
